If this item contains incorrect or inappropriate information please contact us here to flag it for review. I purchased this locally from an old man who had it in his closet. It is all complete with original parts and plays like butter in your hands with a low action and no buzz! I meticulously took it down piece by piece and cleaned it but replaced nothing, it is all original except for the neck strap button which was missing. The neck is small and fast. The pickups are marked and are original.

Hi Jeff, Danelectro, as the company name still exists today and sells most of those old popular models that are quite nice. I’ve seen them and played a few. I remember in the 80’s that IMC a Texas based company best know for making the HONDO guitar copies from Japan at the time also made a couple of the Danelectro copies that were nice which in fact were the Longhorn models! I’ve never heard of Jerry Jones Guitars but then again they just might be a private brand name used by a store but the guitars are the same ones that are made in Korea, like all the new Danelectro models are.
I’m sure you must know where the Jerry Jones are made unless they are custom built?? You must have one of those “Coral” brand type of Electric Sitars. They must be a gas to fool around with!

In the beginning, I had to have my friends tune it for me and change my strings, cause I just did not have the ear to do that. So I started playing around with this Aria guitar, and figured out some simple chords, and some three chord songs, and I didn’t even know the name of the chords. I would put my LP’s how’s that for dating myself on the record player, and try to strum along with the songs. My main claim to fame, was that I could figure out most songs and play along with the.
I used to really enjoy figuring out the chord progressions of songs. So, in a nutshell, I self taught, and learned to play by ear, basically. Only when I started to play with others, did I learn the names of the chords.

Sep 03, · I’m trying to troubleshoot a problem with my Dano. I have a 56′-U2 reissue that I picked up used. Two lipsticks with the stacked/concentric pots (k/1 meg ohm) for tone and volume. Love the guitar but the tone control (k) has always had an issue where the tone would not adjust/taper properly when rotating the pot.
Does anyone have one for sale? Have a reissue in great shape I own a U1. I saw at the Danelectro site they do not sell retro fit parts for vints. Anyone know of any place besides Allparts that may have retro fit parts for Danelctro’s?? Prefer blackburst but will also accept the white pearl finish.

Atlanta, GA daacrusher said: I like the bright colors, was thinking of getting one just for fun. Are the modern models ok? I can go play some, I’m just wondering what the consensus is among the enthusiasts? There are some purists who don’t like them but the ones I’ve tried have been pretty decent. I think playability and quality has improved in the post models, for the most part, where the late 90’s or so reissues were more dicey.
They have made some design changes that some purists don’t like but they’re often improvements that people made with replacement parts anyway. On the used market, the new production ones tend to get snapped up fast when they’re reasonably priced.
